Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Carlstadt, NJ for a Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate procurement of goods and services through the purchasing process. The Purchasing Agent will collaborate with different departments and vendors to ensure products are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Working with key suppliers.
  • Navigate with ordering by containers.
  • Liaising with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations.
  • Evaluating products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
  • Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions.
  • Preparing and issuing purchase orders and agreements.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns.
  • Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings.
  • Analyzing industry and demand trends and supporting senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in purchasing and contracting processes, negotiation, supply chain management, and procurement is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Prior experience in the flooring industry is a plus.
